Pokemon: Takeshi, Kasumi, Satoshi, and Okido Shigeru

pokemon cosplay - taskeshi / brock, kasumi / misty, satoshi / ash ketchum, and okido shigeru / gary oak

A trainer from the Kanto Region, Satoshi (Ash Ketchum) started his Pokemon trainer days with Pikachu as his starter Pokemon. Satoshi and his childhood rival, Okido Shigeru (Gary Oak) race to become the Pokemon League Champion as well as becoming one of the best Pokemon Trainers in the world.

Incidentally, Satoshi accidentally destroys Kasumi’s (Misty’s) bike, and she begins following him to get her bike back. The two eventually became friends, and Kasumi helps him out in training for his battle against Pewter Gym Leader, Takeshi (Brock).

This is so many levels of awesome that I don’t even know where to begin! First found on Kurage-chan's Tumblr!

Pokemon: Musashi and Kojiro

The main antagonists of the Pokemon anime and manga series, Musashi (Jessie) and Kojiro (James) have set out to steal Satoshi’s (Ash Ketchum’s) Pikachu whom they consider to be especially strong. They are known to use various disguises with Musashi wearing masculine clothing and Kojiro cross-dressing in extremely feminine attire. They almost always “blast off” whenever they are defeated by Satoshi.

Wow, who would have thought anyone could pull off Musashi’s hair that well? Thanks to Gracie for sending this!

EDIT: Thanks to Fang Shinobi for commenting that Ryoko is Jessie and Malro is James!

2011 Cosplay Calendar for Charity

When Natalie Parisi sent me an email regarding a 2011 Cosplay Calendar for Charity, I had to admit, I was quite skeptical at first. Mainly because I’ve had many requests like this in the past, and none seemed legitimate aside from this one:

Pokemon: Satoshi

pokemon cosplay - satoshi aka ash ketchumIn the beginning of the hit anime series Pokemon, Ash Ketchum is only 10-years-old and started out as a beginner Pokemon trainer in Pallet town. He failed in receiving one of the three Pokemon (Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle) Professor Oak was giving to hopeful youngsters because he was too busy dreaming about becoming a world famous Pokemon trainer. His eagerness made Professor Oak consider giving Ash his last remaining Pokemon, the unruly and now infamous Pikachu for his starter Pokemon, allowing Ash to begin his journey.

Awesome cosplay! I love how much the cosplayer paid attention to the details of Ash’s costume down to the plush Pikachu! I have one exactly like it, but I doubt I could cosplay Ash just as well. Thanks to Tamari for sending this in!

Pokemon Advanced: Haruka and Kasumi

pokemon advanced cosplay - may and misty / haruka and kasumiThe female protagonists of the Pokemon series, May is the 10-year-old daughter of Petalburg City Gym Leader, Norman. She has a younger brother named Masato who is a budding Pokemon leader but far too young to receive his own pokemon yet. May starts out as a girl who doesn't like pokemon but found interest in participating in Pokemon Contests. Quite a difference to Kasumi, who dreams of becoming the World's Greatest Water Pokemon Trainer.

Cute pair aren't they? I never got to follow the Pokemon series all the way. I may have stopped after I saw the movie with Mewtwo in it. But anyway, beautiful cosplay!

Pokemon: Misty aka Kasumi

pokemon cosplay - misty aka kasumi Speaking of Pokemon, here’s a girl from the series you cannot easily forget.

The self-proclaimed “world-class Water-type Pokemon trainer, Misty (also known as “Kasumi” in the Japanese versions) comes off during the beginning of the series as a spoiled little girl who only journeyed with Ash because she wanted him to pay for her bike. Eventually, as the series develops, a warmer, kinder side of Misty emerges, as she takes on the role of Togepi’s mother until his evolution.

This cosplay is so cute, I can’t even point out an obvious mistake in this cosplay. Do you know what it is I’m talking about?

Thanks to Enchanted Collection for sharing this!
