The primary protagonist and antagonist of the OVA series, Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master were presumed to be sisters in the early stages of the animation project. As Black Rock Shooter prefers her Black Sword, Dead Master’s weapon of choice is a large scythe with an unusually shaped blade with vertebra like detail on its handle.Dead Master shares similar characteristics with Takanashi Yomi, a first year middle school student and friend of Kuroi Mato, who also shares similarities with Black Rock Shooter.
