A project that was originally intended for a low-teen girl's voice following after Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Len and Rin were created to satisfy the demand for a boy's version Vocaloid. Their family name literally means “mirror sound” and Crypton Future Media Ltd. wished to distribute them as twins, but this marketing strategy was not carried out.Shimoda Asami is the seiyuu behind the voices of Kagamine Len and Rin.
